The College of Education, Nsukka
The TCEN is temporarily located at the green plains of Agu Echera, Nsukka, in Enugu State with serene and beautiful weather, characteristic of the green hills of Nsukka, that are every conductive to learning.
In addition to the general objectives of teacher education envisioned in the national policy on education as constantly reviewed, the objectives of the TCEN include:
- To produce efficient and effective professional teachers with diversified teaching strategies, making the child the center of the learning experiences rather than passive listeners in class;
- To enable students demonstrate sound practical knowledge, skills and attitudes;
- To demonstrate professional proficiency for teaching in primary and junior secondary schools and preparing students for academic pursuit in higher institutions or to become self-employed after school;
- To produce teachers who will be the vanguards of poverty eradication by producing pupils/students who will be job-creators rather than job-seekers.

TCEN 2017 Teaching Practice for 3rd Year Students
Teaching Practice is at the very core of teacher training programme in TCEN. As earlier stated that the College was established to provide qualitative teacher education geared towards meeting the present challenges, it becomes apparent that students need to experience first-hand challenges that emerges in the school enviroment practically.
